Anderson Japanese Gardens

Anderson Japanese Gardens in Rockford, Illinois, transforms 12 acres into a living work of art with stone, water, and plantings designed to inspire calm and renewal. Established in 1978 by John Anderson with master craftsman Hoichi Kurisu, the Gardens reflect authentic Japanese design and philosophy. Since becoming a nonprofit in 1998, it has been sustained by the Rockford community, offering cultural programs, events, and environmental stewardship.
